Brent Bandemer

Brent discovered documentary filmmaking while studying post-production at Columbia College Chicago. When directing a short documentary on a sub-culture quickly transformed into a character story, he saw the true dynamic nature of the documentary genre. After winning the Audience and Jury awards for his film Gone at Columbia’s student film festival, he immersed himself in documentary courses and his affinity continued to grow along with his editing and directing skills. Upon graduating, he was accepted into Kartemquin Films’ internship program where he was able to experience film production at various stages.

Emily Strong

Emily is committed to producing authentic and inspiring stories from diverse perspectives that stimulate conversation, connectivity, and promote social change. She was the multimedia producer on The School Project, and former Operations Manager and Outreach & Distribution Coordinator for Radical Grace at Kindling Group. She is a former Kartemquin intern and currently runs Programs and Engagement at Kartemquin Films, where she supports over 40 emerging filmmakers each year, 30% or more of which are filmmakers of color.
